Minecraft Enchantments Explained
This beginner's guide explains what enchantments are, how to get them, and how they work in Minecraft.
What Are Enchantments?
Enchantments are special bonuses or abilities you can add to your tools, weapons, and armor in Minecraft. They make your gear stronger, more durable, or give it unique effects.
How Do You Enchant Items?
- Enchanting Table: Use an enchanting table, lapis lazuli, and experience levels to enchant items. Place the item and lapis in the table, then choose an enchantment.
- Anvil: Combine enchanted books with items, or combine two enchanted items, using an anvil and experience levels.
- Grindstone: Use a grindstone to remove enchantments from items (except curses).
Types of Enchantments
- Weapon Enchantments: Increase damage, add fire, knockback, etc.
- Armor Enchantments: Reduce damage, add thorns, underwater breathing, etc.
- Tool Enchantments: Increase mining speed, durability, or block drops.
- Special Enchantments: For bows, tridents, boots, etc.
